Astrotourismus ist eine wachsende Form des Natur- und Wissenschaftstourismus, bei der die Beobachtung des Nachthimmels im Mittelpunkt steht. Er verbindet Astronomie mit Reisen zu besonders dunklen und atmosphärisch günstigen Standorten weltweit.
Die besten Standorte für Astrotourismus zeichnen sich durch geringe Lichtverschmutzung, trockene und stabile Atmosphäre, große Höhe und gute Infrastruktur aus. Zu den bekanntesten Zielen gehören die Atacama-Wüste in Chile (Standort von ESO-Observatorien), die Kanarischen Inseln (Observatorium Roque de los Muchachos auf La Palma), Namibia (NamibRand Nature Reserve), Hawaii (Mauna Kea) und die Dark Sky Parks in Europa und Nordamerika.
Viele Observatorien bieten Besucherprogramme an — das ESO Superstella Visitor Centre in Chile, das Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles und das Royal Observatory Greenwich gehören zu den meistbesuchten. In Deutschland laden Einrichtungen wie die Sternwarte Bergedorf und die Archenhold-Sternwarte in Berlin zu öffentlichen Beobachtungen ein.

Astro tourism is a growing form of nature and science tourism centered on night sky observation. It combines astronomy with travel to particularly dark and atmospherically favorable locations worldwide.
The best astro tourism destinations are characterized by low light pollution, dry and stable atmosphere, high altitude, and good infrastructure. Among the most renowned destinations are the Atacama Desert in Chile (home to ESO observatories), the Canary Islands (Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma), Namibia (NamibRand Nature Reserve), Hawaii (Mauna Kea), and Dark Sky Parks across Europe and North America.
Many observatories offer visitor programs — the ESO Superstella Visitor Centre in Chile, the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, and the Royal Observatory Greenwich are among the most visited.
